You should not throw litter into the rivers and lakes or onto the ground because it when it rains they will be washed into the storm drains that eventually go into the rivers or lakes or oceans.
You can help out in your local park planting trees or other plants.
That boy is not me. But I would like to plant a tree! |
You can not chop down trees because that destroys animals' habitats.
And it is good not to eat meat because that kills animals. And also do not hunt animals when you do not need to, just for fun or for the sake of killing animals.
You should stop poaching in national forests and nature reserves.
It is good to recycle things that can be recycled, even if it is not by the city. Whole Foods recycles number 5 plastics.
You should use less fossil fuels, instead you can use fuels such as wind, water, and solar power even if it does a little bit of damage like hurting birds.
You should not waste energy: turn off the lights when you leave the room or your apartment or your house.
You should ride bikes, walk, take the train, or carpool to not use so many fossil fuels.
We can all help nature!
Sam, you have supplied all your readers with great advice on sustaining our planet and supporting the natural habitat that we are all a part of! How did you know about Whole Foods recycling the #5 plastics? I agree with everything you said, especially how sad and empty my own life would be without animals.
ReplyDeleteOkay, tonight we saw what we think was a coyote, when we finished dinner at Pickle Bill's Restaurant on the Grand River. The coyote was on the opposite side of the river, but it moved closer for us to see it and then we realized that it was not a dog. It loped away then into a stand of trees, probably going after its dinner. We also had a hawk fly low and right in front of Grandpa's car windshield tonight, followed by the sighting of a groundhog standing up at the curb of the busy road. Finally, just a few minutes ago, Grandpa was putting the trash out at home, and we had a tiny brown tree toad jump up on the drive. There are a lot of toads and frogs here to welcome you when you come to visit in a few weeks!

ReplyDeleteHi! I am happy to read your blog. You remind people of things to think about to preserve and show respect for our planet and its inhabitants. Sometimes just doing that makes you feel good. Yesterday I was going to my studio. I was on the road by the pond you walked on a couple of years ago with your Mom and Dad. I stopped my car when I saw a turtle resting on the warm asphalt in the morning sun. I woke the turtle up from its nap and encouraged it to finish crossing the road so it wouldn't get hurt by a car driving by. that brief time with the turtle made me feel better all day.
Keep looking and listening! Uncle Wil
