Bears hibernate in winter. In the rainforest it is always hot. The arctic winters are dark all the time. The animals don't mind. Predators such as wolves and other carnivores follow the herds of herbivores.
Are the arctic winters really dark all the time? At the library, we had a teacher speak about her 3 months doing research on a certain microorganism found only in Antarctica. She talked about all the vast whiteness, but also about the colors of the sky and the animal life, even some hearty plant life. I think that she was there in February. She loved it and wants to return soon!
